A Superior Heat Convertor is used to transfer heat from water to the plenum of your forced air furnace. This hot water is supplied by your domestic electric hot water heater.
The convertor is installed in the plenum of the furnace and plumed to your existing hot water heater. The water is circulated by means of a circulating pump. This system uses the duct work, fan, and air filtering system of your existing forced air furnace.
The convertor is installed by means of a mounting panel and slide rail mounting system. You still have the full use of your oil fired furnace. If you decide to use dual fuel or off-peak electricity provided by your power company, the existent oil fire furnace will serve as back-up heat required by most plans.
With your existing hot water heater, you have hot water 24 hr. a day, which makes it cost-efficient to heat your home this way.
In most situations a Superior Heat Convertor can be installed for about 1/2 the price of other heating systems. In the heating season 08-09, a 3,000 sq. ft. home using this heat convertor and Minnesota Power dual fuel plan versus heating with oil, we saved 50% in heating costs.
